9:00 Pride and LGBTQ Representation
31:19 Loki First Impressions
Happy Pride!
This week we dedicate time to talking about LGBTQ representation in pop-culture and how our awareness of the importance of that representation has changed over time. Within the content we consume, where are we seeing representation?
*Spoilers for Loki*
Then we give our first impressions of Loki! Who’s on board? Who's not? What do we think the god(s) of mischief has/(have) in store? And what do we think of that REVEAL in episode 2?!
With the focus of Phase 4 seeming to be the breakdown of reality, we're excited to see this potentially head towards ~madness~!
Tune in! and let us know what you think of Loki so far.

"Star Wars rhymes", but our opinions don't!
This week, we revisit and rehash our opinions on the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy! We discuss our initial reactions and compare them to our current day opinions. Most importantly, we talk about why we feel the way we feel about TFA, TLJ, and TROS - tbh, some of our opinions have changed but some have stayed the same.
The conclusion: some of us love them, some of us hate them, and some of us are generally “meh” about them.
We also talk about some of our favorite/least favorite moments, characters, droids, etc.
Tune in! And, let us know what you think of the sequels.
And let us know your answer to our surprise question!
Thanks for listening!

Episode 28: The Falcon, The Winter Soldier, and John Walker's Punchable Face
Wednesday May 12, 2021

0:00 What we're into
12:06 Falcon and The Winter Soldier
This episode, we take a break from Star Wars and give our final thoughts on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier!
What did we like? What didn’t we like? Did it live up to our expectations? Should characters who suffer immense trauma go to therapy? Apparently not, Sam will take care of it. We also discuss how so much of The Flag Smashers objectives relate to real world issues - and how that creates much more impactful storytelling.
How did it work with so many villains? Do we all agree that John Walker has a punchable face? And, Sharon Carter’s a Skrull, right?
As usual, there’s a surprise question at the end of the show so don’t leave early! Find us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or send us an email at kryptontoalderaan@gmail.com and let us know your answer!

May the Fourth be With You!
On this Star Wars Day Special Edition of Krypton to Alderaan, I talk with Star Wars parody song writer, YouTube sensation, and podcaster, Royish Good Looks!
He makes the Star Wars songs that we all know and love! But, before he set his sights on taking over the galaxy, who was he?
Join us as we dive into his Origin Story: How did his love for music begin? When did he realize he loved Star Wars? When and how did those worlds collide?
We discuss his love and talent for music, his influences, as well as his college experiences and how that time shaped his music-making interests, abilities, and techniques. And, since his viral YouTube success, how the increasing pressure from fans affects his creative process.
Also, of course, we talk about some Star Wars.
Finally, and importantly, we talk about what he wants from his podcast, from his music, how he wants his legacy to inspire others.
Tip of the episode: create art, share your art, enjoy other people’s art, respect other people’s art.
Find Royce on YouTube and social media everywhere as Royish Good Looks and listen to his new podcast, The Royish Good Looks Podcast!

Episode 27: Star Wars Surprise Questions and Favorites

15:17 Star Wars Favorites discussion
Star Wars is for everyone. Because there are toxic elements within the fandom and because there are gatekeepers along the way, it’s alway important not only to shut that down if we see it, but also to remember to be understanding and respectful! Everyone is allowed to like what they like and not like what they don’t like. What we try to do is discuss our opinions about these properties in a respectful way - and I’m constantly inspired by some of the Star Wars fans and content creators I interact with on social media (some are mentioned in this episode and I recommend giving them a follow). The important thing is: just be respectful, be understanding, and let’s just all love Star Wars.
This is a full Surprise Question episode that I consider to be our May the 4th-ish episode! Joey leads the discussion, asking questions about some of our favorite movies, moments, and characters from the Skywalker Saga! Everyone has to pick moments they like from The Phantom Menace! We all answer questions such as: What’s our favorite movie from the each trilogy? As well as: what are our favorite moments?; and who are our favorite characters from the movies? Importantly, we keep it positive and we all learn a bit about each other along the way!
But wait, there’s more: we’ve got three bonus surprise questions in the actual Surprise Question section of the show, two of which are from listeners!!!
Thanks for listening!
