Why We Love Star Wars With Bryan Barry (Pink Milk)
Friday Jan 14, 2022
Friday Jan 14, 2022
On this episode, I talk with Bryan Barry from Pink Milk! Bryan is an amazing Star Wars fan and content creator, and y’all should listen to his podcasts. By now, you all know how much I love Pink Milk.
Bryan and I discuss his personal journey with Star Wars. From a very early, very strong love for Max Rebo (don’t worry, we unpack that) to Din Djarin and Grogu, we talk about how his connection to, and interaction with, the franchise has evolved as his life has evolved. Basically, what Star Wars means to him and how it inspires him - as a fan, as a content creator, as a person. In a nutshell: Why We Love Star Wars!
Bryan and the rest of the team at Pink Milk not only make amazing content, but they also have cultivated an amazing, positive, accepting community within the fandom. To reinforce the positive influence they have on the fandom, here is the Pink Milk Mantra:
We Are Star Wars Fans, We Support Each Other, And We Have Fun.
Words to live by.
Regardless if you’re a Star Wars fan, if somehow you’re reading this I encourage you to take that mantra and replace Star Wars with whatever you’ve got going on, and push some more positivity out into the world.
ALSO, I do have a surprise question for Bryan, so stay tuned until the end!
Thanks so much for listening!

Pink Milk After Dark: Homophobia in Star Wars and #BlackoutStarWarsEclipse
Thursday Dec 16, 2021
Thursday Dec 16, 2021
Lucasfilm Games announced that they have teamed with the studio Quantic Dream to create the video game Star Wars Eclipse, set during The High Republic, the most diverse and open era of Star Wars. However, the leadership at Quantic Dream is publicly homophobic, sexist, and extremely toxic.
This is an episode from Pink Milk After Dark - Bryan, Emma, and Chase discuss this news and how its impacting fans and creators in the queer community.
Please, join us in fighting back against homophobia and bigotry in Star Wars - Use #BlackoutStarWarsEclipse on social media.
"Star Wars is for everyone" could be true if we work together.

How Buddhism Influenced Star Wars! (With Dr. Kate Hartman)
Wednesday Nov 17, 2021
Wednesday Nov 17, 2021
Dr. Hartman is a professor of Asian religions at the University of Wyoming and specializes in Buddhism.
In this Special Edition episode, we discuss what influenced George Lucas when creating Star Wars including the influences from Joseph Campbell, and Buddhism and Daoism; and how these influences have transcended Lucas, becoming an inherent part of the films, tv shows, books, and other Star Wars content.
We also discuss how certain characters personify those influences AND how one line of dialogue that never made any sense to Joey has A LOT of meaning and actually makes a lot of sense if you factor in these influences!
Plus, we have a Surprise Question for Kate!

Wednesday Nov 10, 2021
0:00 Intro and Catchup

14:12 Book of Boba Fett
48:00 Surprise Question
We initially discuss Joey’s idea for Krypton to Alderaan merch! Listeners, let us know what you think.
Then, we Speak Freely about The Book of Boba Fett - surprise surprise… 2 minute trailer, hour long convo. Why did Boba’s armor get a fresh “paint of coat”? What were our immediate reactions to the trailer? Maybe Star Wars meets Soprano’s… Does he store coins in his helmet? How do our initial reactions to this trailer compare to our initial reactions to the first Mandalorian trailer? What are our anticipations re: BOBF S1 vs Mando S3?
Show us something new and different and fun, are we right?! More aliens, more creatures. Speaking of, WTF are B’Omarr Monks?! What would we have to see to enjoy it? How do they hook us in without Grogu? Robin needs more droids.
And, can they use flashbacks to get us sympathetic to Boba’s story?
PLUS: A sneak peek at RoyishGoodLooks’ Boba Fett song!
And, as usual there’s a Surprise Question. It’s worth it just for Joey’s song this time. BUT, it’s also a great question and let us know your answers! AND, let us know what you’d like to see in BOBF!
